MRV Summer Camps provide a time filled with moments of pride, fun, friendship and self-confidence. Parents tell us their kids gain independence; campers tell us they have a blast! At MRV Summer Camps we know that both of these are true—and along the way, we create amazing memories that will last your child a lifetime!
These frequently asked questions are designed to answer the questions we most commonly receive from parents. We also encourage you to check out our updated Parent Handbook (available February 2019) for additional information and we are always available via email or phone to answer any questions you might have. Camp is all about having fun both indoors and outdoors. As such, we strongly recommend that you do not pack clothing items that you would mind if they got dirty or stained.
Is paintball safe for my child?
We are incredibly fortunate to have the professionals at Cousin Paint lead our paintball field trip operations. With 30 years of industry experience, Cousins Paintball provides our campers with a unique and one of a kind experience.
Outside of traditional paintball equipment, Cousins is proud to introduce a fleet of new 50 cal lo impact paint guns to their lineup. Low Impact Paintball is used to introduce everyday people to the wonderful game of paintball in a controlled manner. Paintball has many levels of play utilizing many different types of markers with varying capabilities. A first time player can be intimidated by the different types of players, equipment and levels of play, so they have created Low Impact Paintball to allow the first time player to fall in love with the game of paintball and enjoy the game for what it was meant to be – Glorified Tag.
You may already know that playing paintball is extremely fun but did you know there are also other great benefits to your physical, social, intellectual, and emotional states?
Playing paintball weekly provides a number of physical health benefits, including weight loss, lower blood pressure, and an overall lower risk of diseases. At least 2 hours of outdoor exercise per week will help you maintain a healthy physical body.
Paintball offers an incredible chance to socialize with other people who share similar interests. Great friendships have been forged on the paintball field and for the younger generation, there is an array of positive role models that can influence their lives.
Paintball as a sport can increase a person’s confidence, creativity, and overall self esteem. Being a part of a team encourages planning skills and concentration efforts. As a strategy game, paintball builds on both cognitive and intuitive skills.
The outdoor physical activity is known to reduce stress and anxiety, two conditions that we have seen growing within our society. According to Web MD, when you experience stress, you body releases a hormone called cortisol. Too much cortisol can result in anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, and other undesirable consequences. Playing paintball will reduce stress and lead to more positive moods.
